Supporting our Roots in 4H
The J & H Oil family has been involved in 4H in our community for generations. Many of our employees, dating back to founder Jerry Hop, were involved in 4H as kids, and now many of their kids and grandkids are also participants. Annually, J & H sponsors county and community fairs and the young men & women in the areas surrounding our business by purchasing 4H livestock. J & H is proud to support the continuation of the 4H tradition for our surrounding communities. Over the years, J & H has established relationships with the fairs in Hudsonville, Ottawa County, Lowell, Owosso, Allegan County, and Cass County 4H programs.
Annual J & H Oil Company Golf Classic
Since 1997, J & H Oil has hosted an annual golf outing with our vendors and customers to raise money to support local causes that align with the values of our company. This outing has allowed J&H Oil to donate to worthy causes such as The Lakeshore Pregnancy Center and The Other Way Ministries. The Lakeshore Pregnancy Center serves pregnant women and their partners in West Michigan and provides services such as pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, one-on-one support for dads, and counseling before and after termination procedures. The Other Way Ministries is a Christ-centered organization that provides resources with dignity to the Westown part of Grand Rapids. Urban Westown families find encouragement, guidance, and resources to meet these challenges at The Other Way Ministries. Families refocus, strengthen, and grow by developing Christ-centered leadership skills that build community. Families invest in others as God has invested in them.
Grace Christian University
Grace Christian University is located four miles from our corporate offices in Wyoming, MI. While many Bible colleges are declining or closing, Grace’s enrollment is increasing. J & H Oil has committed to helping Grace make necessary expansions to support needs created by their growing enrollment. Grace has used contributions from J & H to improve facilities and technology and expand scholarship opportunities for students who want to serve Christ and need the education and preparation that Grace Christian University provides.
Starlight Ministries
The mission at Starlight Ministries is one that is near and dear to us at J & H Oil. Starlight Ministries is a Christ-centered ministry that provides opportunities for those who are grieving a death loss to experience a safe environment of caring support that promotes healing and inspires hope for the future.
